8:30-11:30 am New Pre-Law Advisor Training continues

This training will provide those new to the field with all they need to help students prepare for the admissions process. Topics covered include developing a plan to enhance admissions prospects, the challenges of the Law School Admissions Test and the GRE, writing a compelling personal statement, and advice on letters of recommendation. The sessions will also analyze what factors students should consider in selecting a law school, how to negotiate financial aid, and other topics. This year NAPLA will include a Law School Admissions Council presentation on how to navigate its newly designed website, which has a wealth of information helpful to both advisors and students. We will conclude with a robust discussion of the ethical challenges in advising pre-law students. Speakers will include pre-law advisors, law school admissions reps, and LSAC staff.
